After training his musical ear through those all important music lessons, Daktyl began to lose interest in sight-reading and began to create music with a friend playing acoustic guitar. The duo worked the circuit playing at weddings and parties, earning enough to survive just before their luck ran dry when both of their guitars where lifted from their car while they were blowing there earnings in a nearby pub.
With inspiration coming from all sides of the music industry, Daktyl traded the guitar for making insane beat driven grooves of a new future sound merging Hip-hop, Soul, Garage and Bass. Producers to be found playing on his set list range from talents such as Frank Ocean, House sensations such as Justin Martin and Hanna Wants.
2012 was undoubtedly a huge year for Daktyl with releases on White Colours gaining support in all the right areas with the No Love Lost EP and the contribution to the Black Oscillations Compilation. He was also invited to play at Stealth in Nottingham and all over the UK supporting acts like Artful Dodger, Lunice and Baauer along with closing for The Bloody Beetroots in the main room at Koko on the 9th of March. This goes no short way in describing Daktyl’s hunger for 2013, with releases forthcoming on GROUND Records, and more shows to be added to his event listings.
